I believe that cooking is a very intuitive
activity. If you know your ingredients, smell them , touch them, experiment
with them, after a while you will know exactly what to do with them. You will
be able to measure with your fingertips instead of the teaspoon. You will know
when a sauce is done by its aroma instead of by the beep of a timer.
Believe me, I am addicted to cook books, food
blogs and magazines. I watch cooking shows a lot on my free time. But I rarely
follow a recipe. I use them as inspiration, learning of technics...guidance.
What I am trying to say is: if you are trying to
be a better cook do not be so caught up on following a recipe exactly how it is
presented to you. Read the instructions to learn how that Cook got to the end
result, then use the same method with the ingredients you have in your fridge
that day. That is what I do and, in my opinion, that is the best way to learn!
With this Blog, I hope to keep you and
I inspired - always!
